I am very honored to say we have been nominated for Denver 7’s A-list awards under the Best Hair & Makeup category! The other nominees are so talented and I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of them. Voting starts July 26th, we would be grateful for your votes!

There are no words. Just pure beauty. Kathleen is a natural talent, her facial features are absolutely stunning. I mean look at those cheek bones! Of course, Shannon – of Shalynne Imaging, impresses once again. I swear, everything she produces is pure gold.

Amanda & Mike

Amanda and her bridesmaids were an absolute dream to work with. The moment I walked into the Rembrandt Yard, I knew the sweet, elegant feel of the wedding would soon be all put together. I had the pleasure of working with Gabby from Save the Date Events again for Amanda and Mike’s wedding, and I couldn’t recommend her more for her professionalism. Rachael from Girls & Curls styled Amanda and her bridesmaids hair, beautifully. Those beautiful flowers you see were done by Bella Fiori.
Also, thank you to Kevin and Jess, from This Modern Life Photography, for the wonderful images here.

I got to work with Alexis on this shoot and she is just a beauty! Look at those big blue eyes, so absolutely stunning. Shannon, from Shalynne Imaging, continues to deliver time after time. She’s a genius behind the camera (and in front of it too!)

Shalynne Imaging Shoot
Posted on July 14, 2010
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Shannon of Shalynne Photography many times. And every single time we work together, I am over-the-moon with the results. Too bad it’s taken me forever to post these photos!
Haley was an absolute dream to work with as well, she knew exactly what to do in front of that camera. For only 18 years old, she sure had a ton of experience!
Stay tuned for more, this is only the beginning of what we did together this spring!

It’s been too long!
Posted on July 13, 2010
Well, I am half way through my pregnancy and my wedding season is slowing down. I’ve been given a big fat stop sign by my OB to stop booking weddings for early fall because of my pregnancy. So, this means I’ll have more time to blog about my Spring/Summer season! Woo!
So look forward to some of the weddings I’ve done in the last few months including my 2010 brides, an entire collection of Fashion shoots I’ve collaborated on with Shalynne Photography, and more!
I’ll be back in action before you know it!

New Addition
Posted on May 23, 2010
So, after my time in California for my grandma’s service life got hectic. I’ve been working an insane amount (with AA and with my full time makeup job as well) and have been preoccupied by a miracle.
We’re expecting!! I am officially in my second trimester and now that our friends & family know the good news, I can share it with all of you! I plan to slow it down in the fall (early September) because I’ll probably be huge & more reckless than efficient.
I have a lot to catch up on, for the blog including new photos from weddings & shoots… but for now I must sleep. Please stay tuned!

Personal Time
Posted on April 8, 2010
Hope Spring Season is treating you all well.
Unfortunately, my grandma has been in the hospital for about a week now and isn’t expected to make it through the weekend (though, miracles do happen!). I am going to take some personal time from the blog & social networking to focus on my family. I’ve got a busy schedule ahead of me next weekend for weddings & trials so I need to be sure nothing will interrupt that.
Thank you for understanding.

Bridal Trial Runs – What To Bring
Posted on April 3, 2010
As I’m preparing for two trial runs today, I thought I would talk about what to bring to your trial and what to be prepared with. If you’re like me, you’ve got folders & files saved on your computer with inspiration photos for every aspect of your wedding – cake, paper, flowers, hair, makeup, dresses, photographers, centerpieces, shoes, and so on.
Let me start by saying, if you’re the type of bride that has no idea what she wants out of her makeup – that’s okay! These are not guidelines or “rules” per say; instead these are just ideas to help make your trial run go smoothly.
When I set up a trial run with a client, 90% of the time they ask, “Do I need to bring anything?” Here’s what I would suggest:
- Come with an open mind – a professional will take one look at you and know exactly what will bring out your best features and what will improve the areas you may want to disguise. This does not mean, however, that your makeup artist gets to decide your look. Ultimately, what you want is what you should get.
- If you have inspiration photos bring them! I always encourage clients to bring their inspiration photos for hair & makeup because the two things usually go hand in hand. E-mailing the photos to your artist is also a more green option.
- Bring photos of your dress, accessories, and shoes. If you don’t have photos mention them during your trial.
- Speak up! A professional makeup artist isn’t there to do what he or she wants to do for your wedding look. If you don’t like something, speak up. I will say it’s easier on the artist if you say something right away then to wait until the very end of your makeover.
- If you have allergies or sensitivities to specific products, please say something. I will always ask, but there are some skincare products that have fruit, nut, and wheat extracts. So if you have an allergy to anything let your artist know! This also includes any latex allergies – most eyelash glues have a latex/rubber base.
- Come with your normal “every day” makeup already on, if possible. This gives the artist a chance to see what you are used to looking at on an every day basis. Many brides want to still look like themselves but a bit more glamorous on their wedding day.
- Any questions you may have about the artist and their business/practice.
The trial run is one of the most important steps in your wedding day makeup wardrobe. To ensure a smooth wedding day, the partnership you’ve made with your makeup artist is very important.
